Gerry Malloy has been an automotive journalist for more than 20 years. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and, before turning to journalism, spent over 20 years as an automotive test-and-development engineer, both within a major automaker and as proprietor of an independent engineering business whose clientele comprised most of the world’s major automakers.
He is a three-time winner of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada’s (AJAC) Automotive Journalist of the Year award, and the recipient of multiple other awards for automotive writing.
As well as the editor of autofile.ca, he is a long-time columnist and feature writer for the Wheels section of the Toronto Star and an occasional contributor to several other publications and broadcasts.
He is a member of both AJAC and the Canadian Car of the Year Management Group, Chair of the AJAC Technology Awards and a founder and Technical Director of the World Car Awards.
