BMW M4 Coupé
The BMW M4 is so composed at speed, and it carves through corners like a cruise missile.

I can't help but wonder if the BMW M3 would have been more appealing, even in this category. There's something about a four-door family sedan that can hang with a Corvette that defies expectations, and as a coupe, the M4 seems perhaps too comfortable and not hardcore enough.

I thought the 435i was excellent. M4 takes it to another level.

This car has simply intoxicating performance. But should instructions be required to put the thing in park?

It may seem a little out of its element--and probably is--but there's little to prepare you for the immense pace that's afforded by the new twin-turbo six cylinder underhood. You really have to keep an eye on things, especially when you set the throttle to "Sport". The usable back seat is also nice, but this will be a tough nut to crack for the M4 at that price, gorgeous Yas Marina Blue (how I'd paint mine) or no.

Sinister styling, an aggressive exhaust note, and relentless acceleration almost make the 2015 BMW M4 too much. Almost...

Teutonic excitement in the M package!

Not sure about the sound of that engine around town, but once you get it going, it's a nice driving machine indeed.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible
The ability to operate the Corvette Stingray Convertible's top using the remote fob is a great feature.

Manual transmission feels smoother than the last year's coupe.

This is America's sports car for a reason. It can tear through corners, thunder through a straightaway and offer hybrid rivaling highway fuel economy in top gear. The C7 is a home run and I'm betting the Z06 will make it a grand slam.

Still a fantastic sports car!

A brute to drive compared to other cars, but still a blast to drive.

Best bang & look for the money.

Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe
This has to be one of the sexiest automobiles ever produced. And it delivers a driving experience that will put many more expensive sports machines to shame.

Didn't need more horsepower, but still feels fabulous. Sounds wicked.

We grade categories on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest. I must say, however, that I could drop an "11" on the exterior styling of this latest fast cat. What a gorgeous looker, and possibly the best sounding car here, too. The Challenger Hellcat comes close, but there is nothing as feral, as angry and as smile-inducing as the retort from the F-Type's quad exhausts. My lord, if it weren't for the price, this would be my lock for the category. Surprisingly roomy inside, too.

The F-Type hits all of the buttons. Performance, looks (inside and out), and its single biggest draw? The glorious sounds emanating from those four trumpets at the rear.

This might have the most palatable steering feel of the entire category. Pointing the nose is a breeze and the engine builds power toward redline beautifully. Oh, and the carbon ceramic brakes are magic.

What a sound system!

Porsche 911 Turbo S
This iconic machine only gets better with age. The Porsche 911 Turbo S is a spectacular automobile in every way.

My dream car. 'Nuff said!

Good god, this thing is fast. And with launch control, you get a guaranteed burst of endorphins from that amazing accelerative capability.

Launch control. 'Nuff said.
